Evaluation of qualifications is the process of assessing local and foreign qualifications by analysing their context, structure, and relevance compared to local qualifications. It involves two key components: verification and comparability. Verification focuses on confirming the legitimacy of the awarding institution and the authenticity of the qualification documents, ensuring that the qualification was genuinely awarded to the individual. Comparability involves examining how the foreign qualification aligns with the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF), based on its structure and learning outcomes. The result of this evaluation is either recognition or non-recognition of the qualification.

APPLICATION FOR EVALUATION OF QUALIFICATION

Before you apply, please ensure that you have requested verification of your qualification from the awarding body.

The verification information should have been emailed by the awarding body directly to verifications@bqa.org.bw before completing this submission. Alternatively, you may visit the following verification sites for verification of your qualification.

VERIFICATION SITES

You may submit your degree qualification for verification at the following sites:

  1. Higher Education Degree Data Check (HEDD) website (for UK awarded qualifications only). Please see How to Register with Prospects HEDD to complete your verification.
  2. Qualification Check – For qualifications awarded anywhere in the world, including the UK.
  3. For Chinese qualifications, applicants can log into Xuexin Network and use the degree certification system service.
  4. For Zambian qualifications, contact the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) .

Please note that any fee associated with the services above will be borne by the applicant.
