Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) successfully participated in the recently concluded Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) Fair in Gaborone, where students, parents, and stakeholders gathered to explore education and training opportunities.

Throughout the fair, BQA engaged directly with prospective students, providing guidance on its mandate, services, and the importance of verifying the accreditation status of programmes and institutions.

The engagement formed part of BQA’s ongoing “Own Your Future… Check Accreditation” campaign, which seeks to empower students to make informed education and career decisions.

Visitors to the BQA stall actively sought clarity on:

  • Accredited programmes and institutions
  • Qualification recognition
  • The risks associated with enrolling in unaccredited courses

The interactions highlighted a growing awareness among young people about the importance of making informed choices when selecting education pathways.

Through one-on-one engagements, BQA emphasised that accreditation is not just a regulatory requirement, but a critical safeguard that ensures the quality, credibility, and recognition of qualifications.

As the Gaborone leg of the fair concludes, BQA now looks ahead to the upcoming Francistown edition, where the Authority will continue its engagement efforts.

Learners in Francistown are encouraged to visit the BQA stall to:

  • Learn more about accredited programmes
  • Receive guidance on education pathways
  • Gain clarity before making important career decisions

BQA remains committed to promoting quality education and ensuring that learners across the country are equipped with the information needed to own their future.
