Registration and Accreditation of ETPs

Any person that wishes to operate as an Education and Training Provider (ETP) or an Awarding Body for any of the sub-systems that is; General Education (GE), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) or Higher Education (HE), shall apply to the Authority for registration and accreditation. The application should be submitted in accordance with the quality assurance criterion for registration and accreditation of ETPs and Awarding Body as determined by the Authority. The registration and accreditation shall be done at a fee as set out in the BQA Fees Regulations. 

ETPs that wish to remain registered and accredited shall, at least six months prior expiry of registration and accreditation, apply for renewal.

A training provider can submit an application for registration as an ETP without submitting learning programmes to enable the applicant to prepare the teaching materials and source for establishment funds or prepare the teaching environment and resources. The ETP is expected to submit application for learning programmes accreditation within 1 year of its registration and accreditation. 

ETP accreditation lasts for 10 years and learning programmes are due for review after 5 years.
